Job Openings

There are no current openings for Postdoctoral positions, but we are always interested in contact with motivated students and researchers that are interested in applying for external fellowships, such as the Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowships.

We do have PhD positions available, which are listed below. For more details, contact Dr Schulz at [email protected].

Available PhD Projects:

For information on how to apply for a PhD position at the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of St Andrews and for information on available funding, please consult the website for prospective PhD students.

The group currently has 3 topics available for PhD positions:

  • Optical metasurfaces
  • Slow light and scattering in nanophotonics
  • Non-reciprocal optics.

More information on these three projects can be found on the School of Physics and Astronomy website. Within the topic of optical metasurfaces we also have two positions open that are shared supervision between the Nanophotonics group, the Synthetic Optics group and STMicroelectronics. These are one EngD and one PhD position organized (and applications processed through) the CDT for Applied Photonics.

Undergraduate research projects:

We still have fully funded undergraduate studentships for summer research projects. For more details, contact Dr Schulz at [email protected].
