Dr Sebastian Schulz

Dr Schulz was a  lecturer in nanophotonics and leader of the nanophotonic research group at the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of St Andrews.

He was awarded his PhD by the University of St Andrews in 2012, followed by research positions at the University of Ottawa and the Cork Institute of Technology. He rejoined St Andrews in the spring of 2018.

His research interests span the broad area of nanophotonics, with a particular focus on using photonic components to manipulate and structure light.

He now holds the position as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Outside of work he enjoys, fencing, fishing, ridding and playing fetch with his dog.
